Finders ‘Keepers’: Winners of ‘The Canon Keeper Hunt’ announced!
The ‘Canon Keeper Hunt’, introduced by Canon’s PowerShot compact digital camera brand, saw enthusiastic Australian and New Zealand photographers competing to capture their favourite ‘Keepers’ - shots that capture the moment perfectly. The winners from the four categories, as voted by the public, have just been revealed.
Photographers of all levels were encouraged to upload their favourite ‘Keepers’ to the Canon PowerShot website for their chance to win the major prize of $20,000. From an overwhelming 13,301 entries, 10 finalists were selected from each of the four categories (‘the priceless expression’, ‘the unexpected moment’, ‘the shot that says it all’ and ‘the once in a lifetime shot’) by four highly-respected judges, and then the overall winners were chosen by public vote.
“The entries to the ‘Canon Keeper Hunt’ competition exceeded all expectations,” says Anna Kalinowska, Brand Manager - PowerShot, Canon Australia. “The images really brought to life those great moments in life that will be cherished forever. It is great to see that the ‘Canon Keeper Hunt’ has given so many people the opportunity to spark memories and share images that mean so much to them.”
The favourite ‘Keeper’ (the image with the largest number of votes) was Jenna Holmes who also won “The Priceless Expression” category. As well as receiving the category prize, Jenna will receive the main prize of $20,000. The winner of each category will receive a Canon family pack worth over $2,000 including a PowerShot G11 and the new SX210 IS, as well as cameras for the kids including the A3100 IS and A495, plus a PIXMA MP990 printer so that everyone in the family can capture and print their Keepers.
