Therefore enhances productivity with mobile access
Canon Australia has released an update to its leading document management solution, Therefore. The new version enhances business productivity by providing easy access to documents in Therefore while working offline, on the move or directly from the multifunction device (MFD).
“Productivity is fundamental to all businesses and with mobile working on the rise organisations need to ensure staff can access documents easily without jeopardising document management and workflow processes. The latest version of Therefore allows staff to access documents and workflows from their smart phones and tablet PCs,” said Luke Maddison, Senior Product Manager-Solutions, Canon Australia.
Therefore enables users to capture, organise and access fixed content, images, documents, reports and other information efficiently. The latest version gives users access to files in Therefore while working offline with the ability to check-in and check-out documents while working outside the network. Once the user logs back in, Therefore will automatically synch the files or overwrite where required.
In line with improving user productivity, documents within Therefore can now be accessed directly from the MFD, allowing users to print without being at their computer. This functionality is in addition to Therefore’s current scanning capability, which allows users to quickly capture, index and archive through Canon’s MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) technology, Users are also able to see categories and index data created in Therefore in the standard Windows Explorer window without opening Therefore.
Therefore has also increased its full-text search capability with users able to simultaneously search for documents, content and index data, decreasing the time spent locating content within Therefore.
The latest version of Therefore can be easily connected to existing business applications through a universal connector, without the need for coding. Therefore will be available in Australia in June 2011.
