There's a Printer in my Bucket!
Sharing precious moments is fun and easy with Canon's exciting and colourful new SELPHY compact photo printer

Sydney, 26 May, 2008 - a sign that home photo printing has a bright future, Canon Australia has announced the release of its colourful SELPHY CP770, a first-ever bucket-style compact photo printer destined to capture the hearts of families and friends who value the joy of printing and sharing photos.

The attractive yellow SELPHY CP770 is the perfect accessory for sharing priceless family moments at home or on the road. The SELPHY CP770 combines its revolutionary bucket design with practical storage and portability to serve as the most unique and impressive product to hit the compact photo printer market.

"The announcement of the SELPHY CP770 is significant for Canon and is sure to change the face of the compact photo print category," said Beryl Thomas, SELPHY Brand Manager, Canon Australia. "It's not only fun and easy to use, but also features an innovative design that families will be proud to show off or use at any special occasion."

Revolutionary SELPHY design makes photo printing fun
The SELPHY CP770 photo printer includes a bucket-like carrier basket to store the paper and ink, along with a power cord, which allows for a quick and easy setup and cleanup. The optional battery also makes the printer completely portable, ideal for families wishing to print photos anywhere, anytime.

Functions on the SELPHY CP770 are so easy to operate that any member of the family can get involved. The colour-coded buttons allow for effortless operation and navigation, while a 2.5" high-definition angled LCD screen gives each family member a preview of their photos, where they can scroll through to print the photo of their choice.

The proof is in the printer
The SELPHY CP770 may look like a toy, but the printer delivers professional-quality photos in the time it takes to blow out the birthday candles.

Photo source options are endless with the SELPHY CP770. Featuring memory card slots and a USB outlet, the SELPHY enables photos to be printed directly from a variety of memory cards or digital cameras. There also is the option to print directly from mobile phones, PDAs and Bluetooth devices through the printer's PictBridge and IrDA technology.

When taking a break from printing, the SELPHY CP770 turns to sleep mode and features quick start-up to resume printing.

Affordable home printing
At an affordable 39c per print, the SELPHY CP770 can print on a variety of paper styles, including postcards for mailing to loved ones, photo stickers to share with friends and wallet-sized for keeping the family close to the heart. Loading the paper and ink is simple, thanks to the simple cartridge-loading side door. Packs of 50 are colour-coded and sold in either colour or black-and-white styles.

Perfect pictures
To make certain that family images are perfect, the SELPHY CP770 photo printer has a number of photo-correcting and quality features. Automatic red eye correction brings eye colour to life and image optimisation enhances background brightness and contrast, even in strongly backlit conditions. An ink sublimation process helps reduce blurring and new high-gloss overcoat technology guarantees clear, dry photos that guard against water, oil and fingerprints before those little hands get hold of the prints. When kept in a photo album, prints retain their quality for up to 100 years.

Clear, crisp pictures appear as if from the photo lab through Canon's DIGIC II image processor, which provides advanced in-printer processing of all images, helping to create the best picture quality. DIGIC II also allows the SELPHY CP770 to be highly responsive through new rapid start-up times, card reading and image viewing times up to ten times faster than previous models.

"It's amazing how easily the SELPHY can produce such high-quality photos in lightning-fast time," added Thomas. "The CP770 printer has a wealth of features to ensure that people will be proud of their pictures and rediscover the joy of photo printing."
