Canon offers customers improved security software products built on its Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform (MEAP)
Monday, 7 April 2008 - Canon Business Imaging Solutions Group has announced a plan to transition customers from the current crop of MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) applications - comprising Secure Print, Secure Login and Secure Fax - available for Canon multifunctional devices (MFDs). From March 2008, Canon will make available more robust security offerings from UniFLOW and eCopy.
MEAP is an application development platform that allows the creation of embedded applications for Canon multifunctional peripheral devices. MEAP software is tightly integrated and works in tandem with Canon hardware to help improve document workflow and security around print devices.
Custom applications can be created to execute on the device itself and this change represents an evolution in Canon's commitment to deliver cutting-edge solutions to Australian businesses. The security options from UniFLOW and eCopy offer enhanced security, robust encryption, and improved reporting capabilities to ensure data doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
These technologies help maintain data integrity and ensure staff productivity by reducing management overhead and can be integrated with an existing network infrastructure.
Canon is committed to providing the best possible service to existing and future customers and will continue to maintain support for customers working with the previous release of Secure Suite.
