The imageFORMULA DR-X10C High-Speed Colour Document Imaging Solution

New DR-X10C Scanner Takes the Helm as Canon's Flagship DR-Scanner Model
Tuesday, 10 June 2008 - Canon Australia Pty Ltd., a leader in document imaging and office solutions, is now shipping the latest addition to the company's award winning DR-Series scanner range, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C Colour Production Scanner. The DR-X10C provides high-speed colour scanning up to 128 pages per minute (ppm) and 256 images per minute (ipm), as well as high quality image scanning; reliable document handling; clear, efficient, and easy scanning; and superior durability.

The imageFORMULA DR-X10C scanner is designed for high-volume, paper-intensive environments with an impressive daily duty cycle of 60,000 scans, and maintains its high 128 ppm scanning speed in colour, gray-scale or monochrome. With an optical resolution of 600 dpi and Canon's Three Step Dust Prevention system - an industry first - which helps remove and protect the scanning sensors from paper dust, the DR-X10C achieves impeccable image quality. It also captures a wide variety of documents with a maximum document size of 594mm x 841mm.

"The Canon imageFORMULA DR-X10C scanner will spearhead Canon's DR-Series scanners and represents the ongoing growth of Canon's digital document imaging solutions and innovation," said Kevin Ferrari, Enterprise Solutions Marketing Manager. "As the flagship model, this high-end device digitally 'cuts through' document workloads, quickly processing paper to pixels for heavy duty environments."

The DR-X10C scanner brings operator convenience to a new level to enable fast, unattended batch scanning regardless of page size with the ability to detect each document size while rollers adjust to paper thickness in a mixed batch. The scanner also features hardware and software deskewing features to help physically and digitally ensure properly aligned scans. The scanner has the ability to rotate images by detecting character orientation and skip blank pages. The DR-X10C features three Ultrasonic Double Feed Detection sensors, the innovative Retry Feeding system and Canon's patented Staple Detection feature.

The DR-X10C uses Canon's renowned image quality and advanced image processing features to boost scanning efficiencies. In addition, Advanced Text Enhancement, Auto Colour Detection, Moiré Reduction and other imaging technology help ensure all text is properly extracted and captured on all scanned documents.

Full of high-performance features, the DR-X10C scanner is ideal for use in legal, financial, banking, healthcare, insurance, government and many other vertical markets, especially in companies looking to consolidate and centralise the scanning function. It is well-suited for scanning high volumes of documents for important or business-critical applications, such as document indexing/archiving, enterprise content management (ECM), or integration into business processes (invoice processing, forms processing, and records management). Use of the DR-X10C will help companies realise many benefits, including large-scale business process improvements (money, time, and headcount savings, guaranteed ROI, lower TCO), legal and regulatory compliance, improved efficiencies and document management.
