  1. 1. Who may enter this competition?

    Australian residents over 18 years of age who have access to or own a digital camera. Please see terms and conditions of entry.

  2. 2. How do I know if I am a Professional or Amateur Photographer?

    If you earned more than $20,000 or more from photography work over the last 12 months for the period ending 05.09.08, then you must enter the "Professional" division.

    If you earned less than $20,000 in photographic pursuits over the past 12 months for the period ending 05.09.08, then you must enter the "Amateur" division.

  3. 3. I am a professional photographer - can I enter?

    Yes. This year we have a separate division for professional photographers, please see our Terms & Conditions.

  4. 4. When is the Registration period?

    The registration period commences 8 September 2008 and closes on 30 September 2008. Registration will close once 10,000 registrations have been received.

  5. 5. Am I under any obligation to purchase anything?

    None whatsoever. However, if you have any product enquiries, please see below for details or contact your nearest Canon reseller.

  6. 6. Can Photo5 packs be delivered to private addresses?

    Yes, however, we encourage entrants to submit a business address as the Photo5 pack does not fit in a mail box. If you submit a private address, you will receive a card in your post box advising that you will need to collect your pack from your nearest post office.

  7. 7. How long after I register my details will I receive my Photo5 pack?

    You should receive your official Photo5 pack within 7 working days of registering. Please contact canonpromos@claimit.com.au if you do not receive your pack.

  8. 8. When is the Upload period?

    The upload period commences on 1 October 2008 and closes on the 22 October 2008 and you can submit your images at any time within this period.

  9. 9. Will late entries be accepted?

    No photo entries will be not accepted after 22 October 2008. Please see full terms and conditions of entry

  10. 10. How many times can I enter?

    Users can only register once during the Registration period. Users may upload one image per object, with a maximum of 5 entries during the Upload Period.

  11. 11. How do I upload a photo?

    Firstly, you will need to be a registered user with a valid password and login combination to upload an image. To upload simply, complete the form and submit. You will be asked to confirm or change your submission. If you are happy please submit your photo for approval.

  12. 12. When uploading an image, are comments mandatory?

    Yes comments are mandatory. You must state how you have used the Photo5 object to create your image.

  13. 13. May I upload portrait or landscape photos?

    Photos in either portrait or landscapes view may be uploaded, however, please make sure that your photo has been saved to open without the need to rotate the photo to view it.

  14. 14. What resolution should my image be?

    Image resolution should be minimum 300dpi - standard size 6x4.

  15. 15. What size does my image have to be?

    Minimum 500KB, maximum 10MB.

  16. 16. What format do you accept?

    JPEG (RGB) only [Jpeg Compression set to: high]

  17. 17. Do I need to feature one of the Photo5 objects in my image?

    You have to use one of the official Photo5 objects to create your image. The object either needs to be utilised or seen in some form in your image. Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible entries will be deemed invalid. Please refer to the terms and conditions for full details.

  18. 18. Can I submit an entry with all 5 objects?

    No.

  19. 19. Do I have to relinquish my copyright?

    No. The copyright in all images submitted in the Photo5 competition and which are displayed in the Gallery will remain the property of the photographer.

  20. 20. How long after I submit my photos will they become viewable within the Gallery?

    Approved images uploaded from 1 October 2008 will be viewable in the Gallery from within 48 hours.

  21. 21. I submitted an image and cannot find it in the Gallery? Why?

    Your photo has yet to be approved or it has been disapproved. Please see full terms and conditions for the types of images that are unacceptable. (link here) Please check your email for any communication from Canon.

  22. 22. If I'm featured on the website as a finalist does that mean I'm eligible for the Major Prize?

    Yes. Finalists eligible for the Major Prize prize will also be announced on the Site on 11 November 2008

  23. 23. If I am a Finalist - do I automatically win a prize?

    You win entry for consideration by public vote for a chance to win one of the Major Prizes.

  24. 24. When does the voting open?

    Voting opens on 3 November 2008 and closes on 10 November 2008.

  25. 25. How many votes do I have?

    Registered users are allocated 10 votes in total. 5 for amateur finalists and 5 for professional finalists. Users must be logged in to submit votes. Users have one vote per object category, per division.

  26. 26. Can I vote for my own image?

    Yes. You can allocate one vote only to your own image.

  27. 27. I do not have the correct Flash plugins.

    The website is best viewed using Flash Player 7 or 8. Users who can not view the site using older Flash plugins should upgrade their Flash Plugins. There is no NON Flash alternative.

  28. 28. Can I edit my image details after submitting?

    No, please fill out image details carefully as you unable to edit after they have been submitted.

  29. 29. Is my privacy protected?

    When a user of the system selects to view one of your images, your nominated username will appear. Please login to your account to update your details.

  30. 30. Will my entry be valid if I used photo editing software on my image?

    Yes, entries submitted after using photo editing software will be valid.
