What paper is optimum for posters?
Photo Paper is recommended if you are looking for photo-like quality. If you require non-gloss quality, Coated Paper is recommended. Paper meeting requirements for many other uses is also available. Consult with a sales representative in your area for details.

3. Decide on the size of the poster

How can I make a poster larger than the printing size of the printer?
Enlarge the original image and print it separated over several sheets, which you can assemble to form a large-size print. Make the necessary settings with the procedure below.

4. Create the design of the poster

Can I print from a Microsoft Office application?
You can enlarge leaflets and diagrams, graphs, and other materials created in Word, Excel or PowerPoint and print them in large format quickly and easily. The same with an ordinary printer, you only need to specify paper and size and then print. There is no need to recreate especially for large-format printing.

Correcting tilted image shots

Using the Image Tilt Correction feature new to PosterArtist 2007, you can correct the tilt of photos with a subject that is offset from the horizontal. Just by clicking the horizon in the photo, the image is rendered level so that it matches the angle of the slot (image frame). And of course, you can adjust the tilt angle manually. Angle adjustment is possible up to ±5 degrees.

Choosing the design you want from many designs

A feature has been added in PosterArtist 2007 for displaying an on-screen working tray. During the poster creation process, you will often be trying out different designs and layouts; is this template the most appropriate, which clipart matches the best, try a different design, and so the process goes. The new working tray is just the thing for this kind of editing. You can choose templates and clipart elements and drag and drop them into the working tray, and contemplate the design as you work through the editing process. By providing a readily accessible location for the most promising content elements, the working tray is sure to improve your productivity.

  • Drag and drop elements from the artwork thumbnail list or other sources such as Explorer.
  • Accepts templates and artwork elements such as images and clipart.
  • Templates appear at the top with an icon, while artwork elements appear below.
  • Temporary items in the tray are saved together with the poster.

Restrict usage of images and layouts of poster designs

You can use a feature new to PosterArtist 2007 to set items such as an effective period and editing restrictions. This is useful, for example, when creating a poster at the head office for print only by branch offices. Or, when using photos and illustrations, and there is a need to set an effective period in regard to a copyright, usage of the images and illustrations can be restricted once the period has elapsed.

5. Print the poster

Can poster data created with PosterArtist 2007 be printed with other-brand printers (including trial printing)?
Poster data is printable only with W6400, W8400, and imagePROGRAF series printers. Trial printing can be done up to A4 size on all Canon printers, which is suitable for checking layout and text.
Can images read in with a multifunction unit or scanner be copied at enlarged size?
Enlarged copying with the imagePROGRAF series in combination with a Canon scanner, inkjet multifunction unit, or color multifunction unit is possible.
