Print photos without a computer.

Key Points:
- Compact and easy to use;
- PictBridge and Direct Print compatible;
- Delivers high quality prints in as little as 40 seconds; and
- Dye sublimation thermal print-through process ensures superior print durability.

Sydney, 30 April, 2004 - Canon Australia today announced the addition of two new portable Compact Photo printers, the CP-220 and the CP-330, to its range of dye-sublimation photo printers. Upgrading from the previous CP-200 and CP-300 units, the new printers are capable of producing quality photo prints direct from a selection of digital still, digital video and Digital SLR cameras. Both CP-220 and CP-330 printers produce superb images at 300 x 300 dpi resolution.

With their compact and lightweight design, the CP-220 and CP-330 give users the freedom to print anywhere, anytime. Both models can print postcard size photos with or without borders, the perfect size for those on the move, allowing users to create personalised postcards.

"The new CP-220 and CP-330 are perfect for those who want to effortlessly print photos on the spot," said Shannon Tweedie, Product Manager, Consumer Imaging Products Group, Canon Australia.

"The compact sophistication of the printers means that there is no need to interface with a computer and users can create genuine photo quality prints with their own 'mini lab'," said Ms Tweedie.

The CP-330 and CP-220's intelligent design allows users to print postcard size photos within 85 seconds, without a computer - simply connect, select and print.

Coinciding with the launch of these two new printers, Canon is also releasing a new bulk pack of its popular postcard sized paper. Each pack contains enough ink and paper to produce 108 postcard sized photo prints.

Both printer models produce prints in a variety of sizes. With four format options, users can produce photo images on credit card to postcard sized and wide format (200 x 100mm) paper. Credit card sized label paper is also available for printing stickers and mini-stickers, perfect for the wallet. The new models also now support wide format paper not previously available with the earlier CP printers.

As with all new Canon printers, Direct Photo printing is made possible on the CP-220 and CP-330 due to standardised PictBridge Technology. PictBridge is an industry standard for digital printers, digital cameras and digital camcorders that allows the direct printing of images from PictBridge compatible digital cameras to PictBridge compatible printers, regardless of brand or manufacturer.

The CP-220 and CP-330 Compact Photo Printers bring new standards of ease and convenience to high quality printing. The dye-sublimation thermal print-through process creates premium quality prints at high resolution. Similarly, the 4-layer print process includes a durable clear UV protective coating to prevent fading and colour change over the life of the print.

The CP-330 comes with a battery pack providing ultimate portability and allowing users to quickly and easily print photos and stickers for friends and family anywhere, anytime. Both models are also packaged with advanced software that gives users the option to print their photos via their PC or Mac.
