Shooting HD at 1080i with selectable frame rates (50i/25f), the versatile 1/3" 1.67 Megapixel 3CCD XL H1 features a new 20x HD VIDEO lens, HD-SDI output, Gen lock input and Time code input/output.

Professional versatility
The XL H1 supports HDV and HD production at 1080i, DV production with SD and offers professional versatility with a range of production options and frame rates (50i and 25f).

Studio integration
With built-in high quality HD-SDI output, Gen lock input and Time code input/output, the XL H1 can be integrated into a professional studio environment and used as part of a multi camera shoot.

New precision lens for HD quality
Specially developed for HD quality, a new 38.9-778mm (in 35mm photography) 20x HD VIDEO lens features a Fluorite element to correct chromatic aberrations and a Vari-angle Prism Optical Image Stabilizer (VAP OIS). New multi-coating (SR coating) dramatically reduces ghosting and flare. The XL H1 inherits the revolutionary XL interchangeable lens mount system and has a preset function with new memory backup that remembers focus and zoom points even when a lens has been detached.

Highest resolution for HDV*
With 1/3" 1.67 Megapixel 3CCD and new DIGIC DV II processor, the XL H1 boasts the highest resolution in the HDV class*. In conjunction with the 20x HD VIDEO lens, the XL H1 delivers outstanding true-to-life video.

Boosted digital cinema functions
Total CINE control includes new Gamma and Colour Matrix settings that are suited to direct transfer, by matching the characteristics of film.

Full control over images
The XL H1 features an expanded range of precise advanced image control functions, full manual shooting controls and Focus Assist (Magnifying, Peaking). Custom presets can be stored to SD/MMC card.

High quality audio
The XL H1 features 4 channel recording with XLR audio line level input support and Audio Lock (DV only) for the synchronisation of audio and footage.

Customized 60i/30f/24f video (optional)
For a fee of $650 the XL H1 can be upgraded by Canon Australia Service to shoot both NTSC and PAL, making a full range of video capture options including 60i, 50i, 30f, 25f and 24f available to users.

New 'CONSOLE' image control and storage software (optional) RRP $799
New CONSOLE software for PC allows remote control of the XL H1 and manages the recording and playback of HDV and DV data.
