Multifunction convenience and productivity
Growing businesses and busy workgroups will benefit from the compact design of the iR2020. And despite their deceptively small size this imageRUNNER packs the same multifunction performance and reliability that's made Canon's imageRUNNER range famous.
Many businesses that operate separate printer, copier and facsimile devices can find their running costs spiral, due to the increasing cost of consumables. Administration becomes complex with multiple invoices for service and rental. Then there's the ongoing hassle of ordering three types of consumables kits and remembering which provider to call for service. Imagine a single device that can perform all these functions simultaneously; one monthly invoice covering everything; a single point of contact for all servicing and consumables. Combine this with Canon's well-earned reputation for quality, performance and reliability and you can see how the iR2020 will improve the way you do business.
Clever design and even smarter features
Technologies first developed for Canon's high-end devices ensure the iR2020 provides increased productivity and efficiency within small business and busy workgroups.
Short paper path
The iR2020 features a short paper path that allows easy access via the left hand side of the machine. The user can quickly access the entire paper path (including the duplex unit) from the paper trays to the fixing unit.
Energy efficient
Energy efficiency has been boosted by Canon's new generation On-Demand II fixing system which provides faster warm-up times and a dramatic reduction in ongoing power consumption. Unlike traditional systems that must constantly draw on mains power to maintain operating temperature, Canon's On-Demand system only uses energy as pages are actually being produced. The iR2020 features a warm-up of just 13 seconds from cold start and more importantly, returns to full operation in just 1 second, from Sleep Mode.
Twin-beam laser writing
The imageRUNNER 2016 feature superior print quality of up to 1200 x 1200 dpi* print resolution. Combined with 256-level grayscale support, the imageRUNNER delivers faithful reproduction of continuous-tone and halftone images, as well as printing clear, crisp text. Canon's twin-beam laser writing technology ensures maximum productivity by transferring digital information to the photoconductor via two laser beams writing simultaneously. This translates into faster imaging and superior resolution.
UFR II Lite Print Driver (Ultra Fast Rendering)
UFR II is the latest version of Canon's Ultra Fast Rendering printing technology. For workgroups running Windows® 2000, XP and Server2003, Canon's UFR II technology may be the fastest way to print documents. UFR II technology leverages the processing power found on today's powerful PCs to share the data processing load between the sending PC and the controller, speeding overall print performance and avoiding the bottlenecks that can occur at the print device.
Double-sided printing without loss of productivity
The iR2020 offers a duplex unit for double-sided print and copying. This neat unit is attached within the left hand side of the device and can be is installed in minutes. It provides an additional paper track that inverts and redirects pages back into the imaging unit with almost no loss of productivity.
Smart finishing capabilities
With its unique internal finisher customers can save space while retaining finishing functionality for professional looking documents. With a capacity of 770, A4 sheets and the option of a second finishing tray, this accessory is capable of collate, offset sort, and stapling. The addition of this finisher does not increase the overall footprint of the device making it ideal for busy offices where space is at a premium. The unit can also be fitted with a second finishing tray to provide additional output flexibility.
RoHS Compliance (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
Canon was the first to produce multifunction devices that comply with the new European Parliament RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive. The iR2016 continues this compliance and confirms Canon's global commitment to the environment. The iR2020 is free of the six key substances identified as harmful in the manufacturing process (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB, PBDE).
