Versatile monitoring and webcasting

Connecting directly to an IP network, the very versatile VB-C50Fi captures and transmits live video over local area networks and the internet to up to 50 viewers. And with mounting holes on the top and bottom, the VB-C50Fi is easy to mount on a wall, within a ceiling dome, or on a freestanding tripod, making it ideal for security monitoring and webcasting.

The best magnification in the industry

The impressive zoom range of the VB-C50Fi means that it can capture detailed images from almost any location. The Canon 26x optical zoom lens boasts the widest focal length range in it's class. Combined with a 12x digital zoom, it provides wide coverage and the ability to zoom in quickly when you need to see important detail in an instance. Fast auto-focusing ensures a seamless transition as you zoom in and out, and 10 preset zoom distances can be programmed for different views of a scene.

Canon precision video

As with every Canon camera, you'll enjoy the performance of Canon precision optics and industry-leading features. The VB-C50Fi comes equipped with an advanced quarter-inch CCD image sensor, producing 340,000 effective pixels at 25 frames per second for exceptional responsiveness, excellent light sensitivity and sharp images.

Superior low light sensitivity

If you need a camera for an extreme, low light situation, the VB-C50Fi is for you. At a shutter speed of 1/30th of a second, it can capture colour images in as little as one lux of illumination.

Automatic motion detection and notification

You can set the VB-C50Fi to detect motion in four areas at once, within the camera's field of view. Sensitivity, area ratio and duration of detected motion can be independently set for each area, even if they overlap. For added convenience, you can schedule automatic detection for when you need it, with the option of being notified by email when an event occurs.

Handy image correction features

The new shade correction feature enhances images that are backlit, making dark subjects easier to see, while preventing the whitening of image detail in bright areas. This can be used to make subjects in both the foreground and background clearly visible. The camera's backlight controls give you further options for controlling exposure in difficult situations.

Simultaneous multistream video transmission

The VB-C50Fi broadcasts three different resolutions simultaneously and lets you choose the one that suits your needs. If your network can acommodate larger file sizes, you can enjoy resolutions up to 768 x 576 pixels. However if you have a slower internet connection, or if you wish to view images on your mobile phone, you can select a lower resolution.

Extensive image storage

You'll also find that image storage is no problem with the VB-C50Fi. The built-in server comes equipped with 15MB of RAM for temporary storage of captured images. When it approaches it's storage image, it sends a warning message to a designated computer. Captured images are then downloaded to this computer automatically.

Automatic scheduling

For complete control, the VB-C50Fi scheduling feature lets you control the operation of your camera. You can tell it when to record, or when to output signalas to an external device. You can schedule by week, date, time, motion detection and more. You can also set 10 zoom position presets as part of a scheduled tour, so you only capture what's important to you.

Advanced signal processing

This surprisingly compact camera also features Canon's exclusive high-speed DIC2SK signal processor. Based on the latest professional digital camera technology, DIC2SK employs several complex algorithms to process signals received by the CCD more effectively - for smoother, clearer video with amazing colour fidelity.

Options

Optional Multi-Terminal Module VB-EX50 for connection to external video cameras, sensors and alarms.

Optional Wide-Converter WL-37 has a magnification lens of .74x, and when attached to the VB-C50Fi, expands the field of view to 60º.
