There was an error in the country of origin displayed on the packaging of the optional Battery Pack BP-308 for use with digital video cameras that has been on sale since August 2005. The following information covers the details.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to customers who use this product. We spare no effort in our management to make sure our customers can use our products with confidence. We hope our efforts will earn your understanding.
Details
This battery pack is manufactured in the People's Republic of China, and the country of origin is correctly displayed on the battery pack itself, but the country of origin shown on the packaging for the battery packs that are sold separately is mistakenly listed as Japan.
We aim to make our management processes more thorough to prevent this sort of problem from happening again.
Note that this product was manufactured according to the quality standards for genuine Canon products and can be used without any need for concern.
