Who may enter this competition?
Australian and New Zealand residents who have access to or own a digital camera. You must also be a MyCanon and World of EOS member.

What is the prize if I am the Judges' winner or the People's Choice winner?
The prize includes the winning image printed A2 and either mounted or framed (winner's choice) and can be delivered within Australia or New Zealand.

What happens if the same image is both the Judges' winner and the People's Choice?
In the event that the same image is awarded both the Judges' and the People's Choice winner, the entrant will receive only the one print of their work.

I am under 18, can I enter?
Yes provided you check with your parents or guardians to ensure that they consent to you participating in the program and uploading any photos. The parent or guardian will also need to accept the prize. See the Terms and Conditions for full details.

I am a professional photographer - can I enter?
No, the Canon EOS 1wall competition is designed for amateur photographers and so anyone having earned more than AU$35,000 (Australian Residents) or NZ$35,000 (New Zealand Residents) from photography work in the last 12 months cannot enter this competition. If you enter, you will be breaching the Terms and Conditions and will not be eligible to receive any prizes.

When is the Registration period?
To register, you need to become a member of MyCanon and also EOS 1wall.
You can do this at any time. You need to register to upload and to vote however just because you have registered does not mean you have entered the competition, you actually need to upload a photo.

Am I under any obligation to purchase anything?
None whatsoever. However, if you have any product enquiries, please contact your nearest Canon reseller of click here for to view the full Canon range.

How many times can I enter?
Users can only register once. There will only ever be one wall open for submissions at a time and members will be able to submit a maximum of 1 photo per wall. Every second month, a new wall/theme will be announced. Users will then be able to submit their entries.

If I am a Finalist - do I automatically win a prize?
No, there will only be two prizes, one for the Judges' Choice and one for the People's Choice. The final prize every second month will be announced as stated in the Terms and Conditions. Each entry will be individually judged based on the artistic and creative merit by the judge who sets the theme for that wall and the public.

If I'm featured on the website as a finalist does that mean I'm eligible for the Prize?

Is my privacy protected?
Yes, when someone visiting the EOS 1wall website looks at one of your images, they will only be able to see the Username you chose. They won’t be able to see your email address or full name.

When does the registration period open?
You can register at any time. You must register in order to upload photos and vote.

When can I upload my images?

When will finalists be announced?
Finalists will be announced every second month. Check the EOS 1wall homepage for dates or see the Terms and Conditions for details.

When does voting open?
Voting opens on a different date every second month. Check the EOS 1wall homepage for dates or see the Terms and Conditions for details.

How many votes do I have?
1 vote per 1wall challenge. Every second month, there will be a new 1wall challenge. Registered users are allocated 1 vote per EOS 1wall challenge. Every second month a new wall challenge will be announced. Users must be logged in to submit votes.

Can I vote for my own image?
Yes. You can allocate one vote only to your own image, provided your image is a finalist.

Can I vote for anyone’s image?
No you can only vote from the Judges shortlist of images for each challenge.

Will late entries be accepted?
No, photo entries will be not accepted after the deadline date for each challenge. Please see full Terms and Conditions of entry.

How do I upload a photo?
Firstly, you will need to be a registered MyCanon and World of EOS member (you can join here). You will need to be logged into World of EOS 1wall and enter your photograph during the upload period.

When uploading an image, are comments mandatory?
Yes, you must provide a description of your image when uploading. This is so you share with everyone how you have met the challenge to create your image.

May I upload portrait or landscape photos?
Photos in either portrait or landscapes view may be uploaded, however, please make sure that your photo has been saved to open without the need to rotate the photo to view it.

What resolution/size should my image be?
The image should be high resolution but must be under 5mb. If you are unsure how to do this click here.

What format does my image need to be?
EOS 1wall will only accept JPEG images that are under 5mb. For information on how to do this, click here.

How long after I submit my photos will they become viewable within the Gallery?
Approved images uploaded will be viewable in the Gallery from within 48 hours. Exceptions are made during the December and January competition when moderating will not take place during the holiday period, 16.12.11 – 05.01.12.

I submitted an image and cannot find it in the Gallery? Why?
Your photo has yet to be approved or it has been disapproved. Please see full Terms and Conditions for the types of images that are unacceptable. Please check your email for any communication from Canon.

I received an email telling me that my photo has been rejected? Why?
Your photo may be unacceptable. Please see full Terms and Conditions for the types of photos that are unacceptable. Or you may have submitted your photo more than once – in which case we accept one photo and reject the rest. Check the 1wall site to see if your photo is in the gallery. Approved images uploaded will be viewable in the Gallery from within 48 hours. Exceptions are made during the December and January competition when moderating will not take place during the holiday period, 16.12.11 – 05.01.12.

Can I edit my image details after submitting?
No, please fill out image details carefully as you are unable to edit after they have been submitted.

Will my entry be valid if I used photo editing software on my image?
Yes, entries submitted after using photo editing software will be valid, however Judges will be asked to consider the response to the brief first, so less is more. It’s about your idea.

When I upload my image do I have to relinquish my copyright?
No, the copyright of all images submitted in the EOS 1wall competition and which are displayed in the gallery will remain the property of the photographer. Canon has a non-exclusive license to use your image to promote the EOS 1wall competition and the World of EOS. Canon may also contact you if it chooses to license your image at a later date for other purposes. For this, you will receive a $100 payment. How will judging work this year?
Each entry will be individually judged based on artistic and creative merit and adherence to the challenge by the Judge who sets the theme for that wall. There will be one challenge per every two months.
Once the upload period ends and the images are in the gallery – the judge who set the theme for the wall will select 3 to 10 finalists. The Judges will vote for the best photo and they will decide who wins the prize. The public will then be left to decide which one of the finalists will win the ‘Peoples Choice Award’. The entry with the most votes wins the Peoples Choice. Canon / Judges reserve the right to choose the winner in the event of a tie. You can only vote one time per challenge i.e one vote per person per challenge.

How will the winners be notified?
There will be 1 winner for each challenge/every two months. Winners will be announced on the website and notified by email or phone call.

Will the judges state why they chose their winners?
Yes.

I do not have the correct Flash plugins.
The website is best viewed using Flash Player 9 or greater. Users who can not view the site using older Flash plugins should upgrade their Flash Plugins. There is no Non-Flash alternative.
