Anyone can view and participate in these video tutorials. It is recommended that people new to DSLR or photography in general should start with tutorials in the ‘Getting Started’ section. Once comfortable with the tutorials and principles explained here, they can move onto the ‘Get Creative’ section. These tutorials have been created with more advanced photographers in mind – photographers who understand the theory and relationships between topics like aperture and shutter speed.
To upload photos and post comments you must be a member of The World of EOS.

Not at all. While we encourage anyone and everyone to participate where possible, those already with a DSLR may find it easier to participate as the nature of some of the tutorials and projects requires a level of manual control over camera settings that most standard point-and-shoot digital cameras do not provide. Specifically in relation to control over aperture and shutter speed.
A digital single-lens reflex camera (digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera that uses a mechanical mirror system to direct light from the lens to the camera’s sensor chip rather than an ordinary digital point and shoot camera, which typically exposes the sensor constantly to the light projected by the lens, allowing the camera's screen to be used as an electronic viewfinder.

On a scale of one to three the chillies shown on the tutorials are intended as an indicator of the level of difficulty associated with that specific tutorial. Where one chilli is easy and three chillis indicates more advanced and challenging content.
