EOS photochains

MyCanon

how it all works

  1. 1. creating a chain

Each photochain starts with a single photo that can be taken of absolutely anything. The only thing that the photographer of this initial shot must do is select a ‘tag’ - an element within the photo to inspire the next photo in the chain – and mark the place on their photo where this element is most obvious.

This photo forms the first link in the chain.

  2. 2. submissions

Other photographers can then go out and take their own photos using this ‘TAG’ as inspiration. So, in this case where the tag is ‘FLY', photographers wanting to be a part of the chain would need to take a shot that somehow incorporated ‘FLY’. As every photographer knows, there’s always more than one way to shoot your subject, so be as creative and imaginative as you can!

The photographer can then submit their shot to be considered as the next link in the chain.
When doing this, they also need to select a new tag within their own photo. This ensures that if their photo is chosen as the next link in the chain, other photographers will have a new tag to submit to.

  3. 3. the new link

Once this next link in the chain is decided on, the photographer who took the shot becomes the new chain owner and the whole process starts again for their new link. In this example, photographers would now go out and take photos that included this 'PINK' tag in some shape or form.
