    We have embarked upon a very exciting data journey at Canon where we are creating a data driven insights culture. Reporting to Data Analytics Manager, this 12 month fixed term contract  is pivotal in identifying key insights from diverse data sources. Collaborate with business units to understand critical areas and build story telling visualisations which enable the business to action on critical insights.
    You will generate data models, KPIs and DAX measures which can easily be replicated in the Data warehouse (DWH) for scale throughout the business. This role sits on the business side where collaboration with marketing, sales, digital & other business teams will be required.This role will be pivotal in supporting this consumer & data centric approach through the development of data discovery, data analysis and data visualisation to help generate actionable insights.
     
    Your responsibilities will include:
    • Data discovery, data analysis and data visualisation
    • Use analytical software to access, transform, integrate, analyse and visualize data to help generate critical insights and identify business opportunities
    • Developing new capabilities for business units beyond static reports and spreadsheets, taking their data and bringing it to life.
    • Utilizing advanced data visualization techniques, using MS Power BI to support business to quickly manage and execute upon vast amounts of data
    • Blend, cleanse, enhance and enrich data from diverse set of internal & external data sources
    • Analyse, investigate and test business hypothesis based on these data sources
    • Understand statistical methods and techniques to solve complex business problems to drive insight for the business users.

    • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Statistics, engineering or business
    • Minimum 3 years hands on experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI, Tableau or Qlickview
    • Experience working as a technical BA/consultant – have a proven ability to engage and gather requirements from key stakeholders
    • Prior experience in turning data into meaningful insights and presenting them to stakeholders
    • Hands on experience with Microsoft BI stack, including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and PowerBI
    • Advanced level skills to code complex measures and KPIs in DAX language.
    • Strong active analytical curiosity and creativity, as well as a flexible critical thinker and problem solver

We believe this can help us to build lifetime value through better connections, more effectively target our consumers, better anticipate their needs, identify and respond to opportunities, track behaviours, and in doing so maximise conversion by moving from product selling to solutions selling.

    You will collaborate with business units (Sales and Marketing) to understand critical areas, build strong statistical models which generate critical predictive insights from data. Apply your machine learning algorithms to formalise simulations and forecast future events. You will be providing analysis and statistical modelling and generating algorithms to optimise and automate our business systems. You will also:
    • Support this consumer & data centric approach through the development of data mining and machine learning capability to help generate predictive and prescriptive analytics.
    • Advanced propensity modelling to drive the businesses commercial agenda, Customer Insights and behaviour analysis
    • Use analytical software to access, transform, integrate, analyse and mine data to help generate critical insights and identify business opportunities
    • Deploying data mining techniques on all structured data sources and generating critical insights.

    • Experience working as a technical BA/consultant – having a proven ability to engage and gather requirements from key stakeholders
    • Advanced data mining and modelling skills data using tools such as SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and PowerBI

    The Information Technology Group (IT) is responsible for delivering innovative solutions and quality services to enable Canon Australia to succeed.  This includes strategic, technical and operational support for the running of Canon’s business systems, telecommunications and infrastructure. It is also responsible for providing advice on technology directions, its implementation and maintenance and the overall security of digital and other business systems.

    We are seeking a Business Analyst  for a 12 month contract to join the Application Delivery team and take a key responsibility for the Salesforce.com CRM and its evolution within Canon Australia. Through collaboration with the Sales Operations team you will:

    • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
    • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details
    • Define and document user needs and support system and data requirements clarification and definition
    • Liaise among internal stakeholders to analyse, document, communicate and validate business and system requirements for applications with a view to consolidate related systems and processes
    • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyse information needs and functional requirements and deliver the needed artefacts (i.e. functional requirements, business requirements document, use cases, GUI and screen and Interface designs)
    • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
    • Assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks. Provide significant contributions in the testing of any new software or changes to existing software

    • Five years + Business Analysis and project experience
    • Strong understanding of CRM, preferably Salesforce.com
