About the event:

Join Canon Collective Ambassador Scott Stramyk for a morning of Birding photography in the Wetlands of Sydney Olympic Park.

Nestled in the Mangroves is a prolific location for many species of bird life and a great location to perch yourself and capture some incredible images of the feathery kind! We will have a wide range of lenses to choose from while the ambassadors give advice, share tips and techniques to enhance your photography.

A selection of aspirational kit will be available for sharing amongst the group during the event.

On completion of this course you will understand:

• How to customise your camera to better suit Birding
• Mastering Panning techniques
• Long lens etiquette
• Semi-automatic and Manual exposure control

The little details:

Techniques covered:

High Speed Photography, Panning, Motion Blur, and Wild Life Photography

Recommended equipment:

Bring your camera, longest lens, an SD card and spare batteries. A monopod is recommend. We recommend focal length lenses From 100mm up to 600mm. We will supply some Canon lenses for you to use during the event.

Event location:

Meeting in the Carpark at 6:30AM to distribute gear and walk towards the Bird Hide together. Limited timed parking at Sydney Olympic Park Archers.

Important Information

General Fitness required, grip sole with closed toe shoe recommended. Where the event takes place outside we can’t control the environment so please take care in your surroundings.
