It's time to reward yourself with a unique tropical getaway to the world renowned Great Barrier Reef! Heron Island is a World Heritage listed coral cay located in the pristine waters of the southern Great Barrier Reef, 72 km north-east of Gladstone, Queensland. A nature lovers paradise with an abundance of wildlife both above and below the water. We can expect to see plenty of sharks, rays, tropical fish with excellent snorkeling opportunities from both boat and the iconic white sandy beaches that Heron Island is famous for. Indulge in a private Canon Collective underwater, nature and landscape photography workshop on Heron Island. Paradise awaits for our small group with a private snorkel boat, day trip to Wilson Island and the best Canon photographic equipment. This is a snorkelling event and beginners are welcome. We will feature our Powershot G1 X Mark III with the WPDC56 underwater housings and the Canon Collective Aquatech equipment. We are expecting great visibility at this time of the year and water temperature still up around 24 degrees. Heron Island is surrounded by 24 hectares of coral reef at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef. The Canon Collective Experience Package includes:

Divers are welcome, with equipment hire and dive packages available through the Heron Island Dive Centre (Dives can be booked during reservation). Departure from Heron Island is on Friday the 29th at 12:45pm, it is recommended that domestic flights departing Gladstone Airport are booked no earlier the 4.45pm. The bus transfer service will depart the Gladstone Marina at 3:45 pm (dependent on the boat arrival being on time). More Details can be found here.
The 'Heron Islander', custom built passenger ferry specifically designed to provide a comfortable and spacious transfer from the Queensland mainland to Heron Island. It departs from Gladstone Marina at 9:30am on Monday 25th, so you will need to catch the early Virgin or QANTAS flight or consider staying overnight in Gladstone to be at the marina 90 minutes prior to departure. There is a free bus that departs Gladstone domestic airport at 8:00am.
