Join Jay Collier, professional wildlife photographer from Canon Collective for an in-depth practical workshop on birds and wildlife photography at Serendip Sanctuary in Lara, VIC, including the use of a range of Canon EOS cameras and telephoto lenses included.
Over 3 hours you will experience photographing wild birds from two photographic hides built over 2 watering holes as well as a series of walk through Avery's where you will get up close to a broad array of Australian native birds and other wildlife. The surrounding bush-land homes a vast variety of wild birds including whistling kites, spoon bills, superb fairy wrens, magpie goose, Cape Barron goose, New Holland honey eaters, and many more species as Jay shares with you his 20+ years of experience from the field photographic wildlife.
During this masterclass you will be taken through many of Jay's insights into better understanding your gear, the set up and techniques used in nature photography such as:
• Camera settings and set up for successful wildlife photography
• Focus set up and techniques
• Introduction to back button focus
• Exposure and metering for wildlife and nature photography
• Aperture and depth of field when using long lenses
• Shutter speed and how it affects your wildlife images
• How to use TV, AV and Manual setting and when to use which mode
