Autofocus may not work well on the following subjects. In such case, focus manually.

Adjust the zoom before you start the procedure.

1. Set the mode switch to ⋖ P ⋗.

2. Turn on the camcorder.

Holding the lock button pressed down, set the ⋖ ⋗ switch to CAMERA.

Move the / switch to (tape) or (card).

3. Press ⋖ ⋗.

"MF" appears.

4. Adjust the focus as necessary with the FOCUS dial until the image appears focused.

You can also press ⋖

⋗ or use the CUSTOM key to magnify the picture so you can focus more easily.

Pressing ⋖

⋗ again will return the camcorder to autofocus.

The camcorder will automatically return to autofocus when you set the mode switch to ⋖ ⋗.
