Error messages related to videocassette tapes

Solution

This section describes what to do when cassette tape-related error messages appear in the camcorder's LCD screen.

MessageProblem/Solution
CONDENSATION HAS BEEN DETECTED REMOVE THE CASSETTECondensation has been detected in the camcorder.
< Solution >
- Remove the cassette and keep the camcorder in a cool and dry place for about an hour with the cassette compartment open.
HEADS DIRTY, USE CLEANING CASSETTEThe video heads are dirty and need to be cleaned.
< Solution >
- Clean the video heads with a commercially available dry cleaning cassette.
INCORRECT TAPE SPECIFICATIONYou attempted to play back a tape recorded in a different television system or in a recording standard not supported by this camcorder.
REMOVE THE CASSETTECamcorder stopped operating to protect the tape.
< Solution >
- Remove the cassette and reinsert it.
TAPE ENDThe tape has reached its end.
< Solution >
- Rewind the tape or replace the cassette.
THE TAPE IS SET FOR ERASURE PREVENTIONCassette is protected.
< Solution >
- Replace the cassette or change the position of the protect switch.
