Handling of Red Icons Displayed on the Screen

Solution

This section explains the meanings of the red icons and what to do when a red icon appears on the LCD monitor.

Battery is exhausted.
< Solution >
- Replace with a well-charged battery.
- Change the battery
< Problem >
The camcorder cannot communicate with the battery pack attached so the remaining battery time cannot be displayed.
< Solution >
- Replace with a battery for camcorders.
< Problem >
A card error occurred.
< Solution >
- Turn off the camcorder. Remove and reinsert the memory card. If the icon continues to flash, initialize the memory card.
< Problem >
The memory card is full.
< Solution >
- Replace the memory card or delete some recordings to free some space on the memory card.
< Problem >
The camcorder has exceeded its operational temperature. This is not a malfunction.
< Solution >
- Turn off the camcorder and let it cool down before resuming use.
< Problem >
The camcorder has malfunctioned.
< Solution >
- Consult a Canon Service Center.
