Silent Shooting (EOS R)

Solution

You can shoot silently, using the sensor’s electronic shutter feature,instead of with the mechanical shutter normally used in still photoshooting. This is useful when shooting where the camera must be quiet.

Available in ⋖ ⋗, ⋖ ⋗, or ⋖ ⋗ drive mode.

Function is available only in [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ], or [ ] mode.

1. Set the camera's power switch to ⋖ ON ⋗.

2. Press the ⋖ ⋗ button.

3. Turn the ⋖ ⋗ dial, to choose either [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ] or [ ].

 

4. Press the ⋖ ⋗ button to display the menu screen.

5. Press the ⋖ ⋗ button to select the [ ] tab.

6. Turn the ⋖ ⋗ dial to select the [ ] tab.

7. Turn the ⋖ ⋗ dial to select [ Silent Shutter ], then press ⋖ ⋗.

 

8. Turn the ⋖ ⋗ dial to select [ Enable ], then press ⋖ ⋗.

Caution

Be responsible when using silent shooting, and respect subject privacy and portrait rights.
Images of fast-moving subjects may look distorted.
Continuous shooting, AEB shooting, and flash photography are not available.
Under some shooting conditions, lens aperture adjustment may be audible.

Caution

Setting [ : Silent shutter] to [Disable] restores the original setting for [ : Silent LV shoot.].
