Connecting to a printer and printing using Wi-Fi

You can connect your camera to a printer and print over a wireless LAN.

When establishing a wireless connection with a printer, you can either use the camera as an access point (Camera Access Point Mode) or use another access point.

Add a printer to your list of devices to connect to via wireless LAN.

1. Press the ⋖Playback⋗ () button on the camera.

2. Press the ⋖⋗ button.

Caution

When making the settings for a wireless LAN for the first time, a screen will appear for you to register a nickname for the camera.

This nickname will be displayed on the screen of target devices when connecting to other devices via wireless LAN.

Press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button to access the keyboard.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose a character, and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button to enter it.

Up to 16 characters can be used.

Choose [ ] or [ ] and press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button to move the cursor.

Choose [ ] and press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

The previous character will be deleted.

Press the ⋖⋗ button, press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [OK], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ button ().

When you are in the vicinity of an access point that you have previously connected to, the camera will automatically connect to it in step 4. To change access points, select [Switch Network]from the screen that will be displayed when the connection is being established.

3. Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [ ], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

4. Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [Add a Device], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

Caution

You can connect to printers that you have already connected to by choosing them on the [Select a Device] screen in step 4.

After you have accessed the Wi-Fi menu once, you can access it again by pressing the ⋖⋗ button. The recent target device is listed first, so you can easily connect again by pressing the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose it. To add a new device, display the device selection screen by pressing the ⋖⋗⋖⋗buttons, and then configure the setting.

If you prefer not to display recent target devices, press the ⋖⋗ button, and on the [ ] tab, choose [Wi-Fi Settings] ⋗ [Target History] ⋗ [Off].

5. Choose the displayed SSID (network name) from the printer’s Wi-Fi setting menu.

Enter the encryption key displayed on the camera screen into the password field on the printer.

6. Once the printer is ready for the connection, press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button when the printer name is displayed on the camera.

7. Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose an image.

8. Press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ ()button, press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [ ], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button again to access the printing screen.

9. The printing screen is displayed.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose the number of prints.

If you want to print the shooting date, Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to set the [Date].

Then, choose [Paper Settings].

10. The screen for setting the paper size appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose the paper size, and press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

On the above screen, the [9x13cm] size is selected.

11. The screen for setting the paper type appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose a paper size, and press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

On the above screen, [Photo] is selected.

12. The layout (border) settings screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to select the layout, and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

On the above screen, [Bordered] is selected.

13. Return to the print setting screen.

Make sure that the settings are correct, and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button to begin printing.
