Media Types You Cannot Use

This page is for the PRO-1 with firmware version 2.000 or later.

Check your PRO-1 firmware version while referring to [ How to upgrade the firmware ], and upgrade the firmware if necessary before going through this page.

With the upgraded firmware, you can perform the following:

- Printing in the color hue (in the PRO Mode) that looks like the one on the monitor

- Reducing the Fine Art Paper margin (from 35 mm to 30 mm)

- Printing on Canvas paper

Caution

The latest version of the printer driver needs to be installed.

With Mac OS X v10.4, the above new features are not available.

Media Types You Cannot Use

Do not use the following types of paper. Using such paper will cause not only unsatisfactory results, but also the printer to jam or malfunction.

Folded, curled, or wrinkled paper
Damp paper
Paper that is too thin

rear tray: Less than 17 lb (64 g /m2)

manual feed tray: Less than 4 mil (0.1 mm)

Paper that is too thick

rear tray: More than 28 lb (105 g /m2) (plain paper except for Canon genuine paper)

* However, you can use non-Canon genuine specialty paper that is up to 53 lb (200 g /m2).

manual feed tray: More than 23.6 mil (0.6 mm) in thickness or more than 93 lb (350 g /m2) in weight

Paper thinner than a postcard, including plain paper or notepad paper cut to a small size (when printing on paper smaller than A5)
Picture postcards
Postcards affixed with photos or stickers
Envelopes
Any type of paper with holes
Paper that is not rectangular
Paper bound with staples or glue
Paper with adhesives
Paper decorated with glitter, etc.
Do not use the following types of Canon genuine paper.

- Glossy Photo Paper "Everyday Use" ⋖GP-501⋗

- Photo Paper Glossy ⋖GP-502⋗

- High Resolution Paper ⋖HR-101N⋗

- T-Shirt Transfers ⋖TR-301⋗
