Image Stabilizer (Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera)

Content Id: 8200749400

Solution

A lens that contains "IS" in the lens name has an Image Stabilizer inside the lens.

If you use the lens Image Stabilizer function, slight camera shake is corrected so that you can shoot clear images.

The lens Image Stabilizer enables you to check the image stabilization effects in the viewfinder, which gives you stable viewfinder images. Accordingly you can shoot images with more precise compositions and highly accurate focus.

In addition, because the Image Stabilizer can be designed to match the specifications of each lens, it realizes high-precision image stabilization in wide-ranging focal lengths with super-telephoto to standard zoom lenses.

To use the IS lens Image Stabilizer function, set the Stabilizer switch of the lens to ⋖ON⋗ before shooting as shown below.

Caution

The Image Stabilizer cannot correct subject blur (if the subject moves).
For bulb exposures, set the IS switch to ⋖OFF⋗. If ⋖ON⋗ is set, Image Stabilizer misoperation may occur.
When you shoot images on a bouncing vehicle, a rocking boat, etc., the Image Stabilizer effect may not be enough to correct camera shake.

Caution

The Image Stabilizer is effective whether the lens focus mode switch is set to ⋖AF⋗ or ⋖MF⋗.
The Image Stabilizer is also effective for shooting with a tripod. Depending on the type of lens or the shooting conditions, it may be better to turn ⋖OFF⋗ the Image Stabilizer function. When using a tripod, you can reduce battery power consumption by setting the Stabilizer switch to ⋖OFF⋗. For details, please see the instruction manual for your lens.
The Image Stabilizer is also effective for shooting with a monopod.
