Erasing Images

This section explains how to erase images.

Caution

Please note that erased images cannot be recovered. Please check carefully before erasing them.

However, protected images cannot be erased.

Erasing Images Individually

You can erase unwanted images individually.

1. Press the ⋖Playback⋗ () button to turn on the camera.


2.Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose an image.


3. PowerShot A2600 / PowerShot A1400: Press the ⋖⋗ button.

PowerShot A3500 IS: Press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button, and then choose [Erase] () in the menu.


4. After [Erase?] is displayed, press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [Erase], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

The current image is now erased.
To cancel erasure, press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [Cancel], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.

Erasing All Images

You can erase all images at once.

1. Press the ⋖Playback⋗ () button to turn on the camera.


2. Press the ⋖⋗ button.


3. A screen like the one below appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose the [Playback] () tab.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ to choose [Erase].

Then, press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


4. A screen like the one below appears.

To individually specify the images that you want to erase, choose [Select], and push the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


Caution

To erase all images at once, choose [Select All Images] and follow the procedure outlined in step 6.

5. Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose an image, and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ (). [ ] is displayed.

To cancel selection, press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button again. [ ] is no longer displayed.
Repeat this process to specify other images.


6. Press the ⋖⋗ button. A confirmation message is displayed.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons to choose [OK], and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.
