Content Id: 8200048000

Solution

When the [REMOVE THE CASSETTE] message is on or flashing, or the icon that indicates ejection is flashing, it means that a problem has occurred inside the camcorder, and that the safety mode has been activated to stop the camcorder from operating.

This message may occur:

1. When a camcorder is damaged because:

1-1. Condensation droplets have formed inside the camcorder.

Please refer to the following related information (on condensation).

1-2. The camcorder has detected sand, water, or some other foreign substance.

1-3. A damage impact happened from outside.

For example, a camcorder is dropped or bumped against a hard surface.

1-4. The camcorder has been operated incorrectly.

A tape has been forced into the cassette compartment or the cassette compartement was pressed down while the tape was loading.

1-5. A camcorder has a breakdown.

2. When a cassette compartment is damaged because:

Dusty or damaged cassette tapes have been used.

The following steps should be attempted when either message appears:

- Remove and reload the videocassette, or use a new videocassette.

- In the case of a condensation, [CONDENSATION HAS BEEN DETECTED. REMOVE THE CASSETTE] appear, and at the same time, the icon that indicates removing the cassette tape starts flashing. In this case, remove the videocassette, and leave the cassette compartment open in a dry place. Do not reload the cassette until the condensation warning icon stops flashing.
