IEEE 2600.1 Security Kit

8th August 2014
Canon Australia Pty Ltd has taken corrective actions for the unit identified within our region.

We greatly appreciate your patronage of Canon products. We would like to advise you that the Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan (“IPA”) (Certification Body in Japan) has approved the following imageRUNNER ADVANCE models with IEEE 2600.1 Security Kits:

- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5000 Series 2600.1 model 1.3 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-A1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 Series 2600.1 model 1.3 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-B1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 Series 2600.1 model 1.3 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-C1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 500/400 Series 2600.1 model 1.3 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-H1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)

Each of the foregoing models with security kits was certified under IEEE 2600.1 as IT secure by the Japan Information Technology Security Evaluation & Certification Scheme (“JISEC”).

The above models replace the following security kits that were “suspended” as of May 7, 2014, and have since been “revoked”:

- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5000 Series 2600.1 model 1.0 /1.1 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-A1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4000 Series 2600.1 model 1.0 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-B1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5200 Series 2600.1 model 1.0 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-C1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)
- Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE 500/400 Series 2600.1 model 1.0 (main unit configured with the Canon iR-ADV Security Kit-H1 for IEEE 2600.1 Common Criteria Certification Set)

Since the affected security kits were first made available, only a small number had been purchased and installed at customer sites. Canon Australia Pty Ltd and Canon New Zealand Ltd has addressed each of the installations and updated these with the newly approved version.
