Eco Labels

Canon works with other organisations and voluntary programs to reduce the environmental impact of our products and operations.

EPEAT

Canon offers products that are registered in accordance with EPEAT for Imaging Equipment.

This sustainability tool provides third-party verification of the environmental attributes of imaging equipment. EPEAT considers - among other things - absence of toxic substances, use of recycled and recyclable materials, design for recycling, product longevity, energy efficiency, corporate performance and packaging.

With EPEAT, customers are able to easily identify and select environmentally preferable products.

To be added to the EPEAT registry, an imaging device must meet at least 33 required environmental performance criteria. Products may achieve higher ratings by meeting some or all of 26 additional optional criteria. The rating criteria were developed during a four-year stakeholder consensus process that involved hundreds of representatives from the environmental, research, governmental and manufacturing sectors.

Energy Star

Energy Star compliant products consume less power by automatically switching into a 'standby mode' when the product is not performing its primary function.

The on demand energy efficient technologies incorporated into Canon products have resulted in a reduction in CO2 emissions, while at the same time saving our customers in energy consumption costs.

Canon is proud to be a certified Energy Star partner both in Australia and overseas. All products in Canon's current range of multifunction devices are Energy Star compliant.
