Battery recycling

Where to recycle your Canon batteries

Batteries should never be put in your recycling or waste bin. Rechargeable batteries and lithium-ion batteries are hazardous and could produce sparks that may start a fire in the trucks or recycling facility. This includes batteries in laptops, mobile phones, power tools and cameras. Always dispose of your batteries responsibly to avoid accidents.

Battery recycling locations

Canon is proud that it is part of B-Cycle, Australia’s nation-wide official Government-backed battery recycling scheme. B-cycle accepts most hand-held batteries including camera batteries. When dropping off batteries to be recycled it is important that you tape the terminals with clear tape to prevent them from touching each other and catching fire. To find your closest drop off location and learn how to safely prepare your batteries for disposal visit B-Cycle.
