What is Underexposure?

The Basics:

Underexposure refers to when an image is too dark, according to the technical rules of what is considered to be correct exposure, ie, darker than what you remember the original scene to be.

To get around this, you would need to adjust your exposure settings, ie, slow down the shutter speed, increase the aperture size, increase the ISO speed, or even use a Flash.
