Firmware Version 1.4.0 incorporates the following improvement:
• Support has been added for the EOS R.
Please note that an interface cable sold separately is required in order to update the WFT-E7 to Firmware Version 1.2.0 or later.
Connection Requirements:
In order to connect the Canon WFT-E7 with the Canon EOS R the following items are needed:
• Items: WFT-E7
• Firmware Version installed: 1.4.0 or later
• Interface Cable: “IFC-40AB III” or “IFC-150AB III”
In order to connect the Canon WFT-E7 with the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV / EOS 5DS / EOS 5DS R / EOS 7D Mark II the following items are needed:
• Items WFT-E7
• Firmware Version installed 1.2.0 or later
• Interface Cable “IFC-40AB II” or “IFC-150AB II”

If your Wireless File Transmitter's firmware is already version 1.4.0 or later, it is not necessary to update the firmware. When updating your Wireless Transmitter's firmware, please review the instructions thoroughly before you update the firmware.

1. After the downloaded compressed file (.zip) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
*Extracting the downloaded file:
Right-click the zip file, and then select Extract All to extract the file.
2. The extracted folder contains the firmware (File Name: WE700140.UPD, File Size: 8,309,932bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).
Before starting the firmware update operations, please first go over the instructions thoroughly before you update the firmware.
