If you're looking to expand beyond the standard zoom kit lens that comes with your camera, the RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM is a great place to start. Compared to a standard zoom lens, you'll notice the step up in image quality with the optics optimised for a single focal length. The 24mm wide angle view and 270g lightweight design makes it great for everyday use, whilst also being excellent for close up macro shooting with the large f1/.8 diameter.

The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM has 5 stops In-lens Image Stabilization and up to 6.5 stops co-ordinated control with an EOS R series camera with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS), helping reduce the effects of camera shake. Have sharp and clear images when shooting handheld.
The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM features a lens control ring for customisable control over shutter speed, ISO or exposure compensation. The easy-to-identify textured surface gives you tangible feedback to adjust while looking through the viewfinder and concentrating on your subject.
Get up close and personal. The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM can focus from a distance of 14cm magnified up to 0.5x - a useful 6cm closer than the RF 24-105 f/4-7.1 standard zoom lens. Handy for more intricate shots like food, flowers and smaller subjects you really want to show off.
Make your subject stand out with soft blurred backgrounds with a large aperture of f/1.8. Create artistic and impactful images particularly great for portraits or food photography.
The RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM uses a gear-type stepping motor to provide smooth and quiet autofocus, so focusing appears natural and seamless. Have clean transitions when moving between subjects or when focusing from the foreground to background, creating professional looking footage.
