- Flying High with the Maestro of Aerial Beach Photography
-
Eugene Tan, of Aquabumps, is a maestro of aerial beach photography. The sun, surf, and sand play in concert, as he conducts with his camera.
He's spent years learning the melody and rhythm of the sea – something which began at Sydney's Bondi Beach. It's an endless education which has consequentially folded him back into the music of the place. His fine art images are now synonymous with Bondi, and Australia.
As part of our latest installment of Down Under From Above, we've pulled together a collection of some of Eugene's best shots of Australia from the air. To get an idea of what fuels his love of shooting aerial photography, check out the video.
Australia has an amazing coastline. We've got clean beaches, beautiful sand, great colours. I feel lucky to live here and shoot it.
I love aerial shooting... it's intense. Imagine 50,000 people on Bondi Beach, and I'm in a chopper right above them. It's an incredible thing to do.
