New riders to hit the starting gate at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania

Three new downhill stars round-out an elite list of talent on show in Tasmania
Wider schedule of activity to include live podcasts with international talent

Wednesday, 28th January 2026 – With just over 1 week to go until the world’s toughest downhill mountain biking race returns to Australia, the final lineup for Red Bull Hardline Tasmania has been revealed. Newly confirmed riders include Norway’s Mille Johnset, Brazil’s Roger Vieira, and Aussie local, Ryan Gilchrist. They join a stacked list of world‑class competitors set to take on one of the most challenging downhill tracks in the world at Maydena Bike Park from 7–8 February.

The latest additions highlight the calibre of talent within Red Bull Hardline Tasmania’s invite‑only lineup. Each rider is hand‑picked for their world‑class skill and technique, both of which are crucial for taking on Red Bull Hardline’s trademark tracks and intense challenges.

Racing Red Bull Hardline for the first time is Mille Johnset. Mille is a prominent force in the global downhill scene, known for her aggressive riding style and sharp race craft.

Also making his Red Bull Hardline debut is Australian Ryan Gilchrist, who has been dominating the scene with standout results across the E‑Enduro World Cup, UCI Pump Track and Crankworx circuits.

Rounding out the new additions is Roger Vieira, widely recognised and awarded for his dedication as a privateer rider (self‑funded and independent) on the World Cup circuit.

Every rider dropping in at Red Bull Hardline Tasmania will be pushed beyond their limits, with the 2026 course stepping up once again through a new top section engineered to test the best.

The main race is joined by a stacked line up of activities for fans to get involved in, including two live podcasts featuring international podcasts, photo exhibitions and competitions for mountain bikers.

Joining us all the way from the UK, Chris Hall from Downtime Podcast will be hosting a live podcast onsite at Maydena Bike Park on Thursday evening, discussing the world of downhill and enduro mountain biking

Then on Friday evening, Rob Warner and Elliott Jackson from Just Ride podcast will be joining us onstage for a live podcast, bringing their trademark humour and downhill mountain biking expertise.

Then for those looking to reminisce some of the best big air jumps and spectacular moments at past Red Bull Hardline events, Red Bull Hardline Through the Lens with Graeme Murray & Sven Martin, moderated by Chris Hall – Presented by Major Partner Canon Australia.

Red Bull Hardline Tasmania is a Gold Standard Trash Free Trails event. From encouraging attendees to bring their own water bottles, to training race marshals to collect litter left along the course, to collecting old kit to donate to a local youth cycling projects, the event encourages collaboration in a bid to ensure everyone leaves the location with even more than was here when Red Bull Hardline arrived.
