Integration with Hatch set to streamline Canon Australia’s efforts to support local retailers across Australia

Hatch Canon Partnership

Sydney, AUSTRALIA - Australia’s most trusted camera brand1 and most trusted home printer brand2, Canon Australia, today announces an exciting collaboration with Hatch, a Global omnichannel commerce solutions provider. Hatch is implementing its technology to easily connect Canon Australia’s consumers with local retailers, enabling Australians to purchase from Canon’s range of consumer digital imaging products, including cameras, camera accessories, and home to small business printers.

Hatch, Headquartered in Amsterdam and with offices in EMEA, APAC and CIS regions, enables consumers to connect with retailers of the world’s biggest brands and purchase products when and where is best for them.

In integrating Hatch’s ecommerce referral solution to its website, Canon Australia has streamlined its digital path to purchase for consumers, by linking them from a product page, directly to local retailers’ online stores who have stock available for purchase. With the local pricing of Canon Australia’s consumer products set at dealer discretion, Hatch enables the customer to easily view pricing by providing a direct link to retailers’ online stores. This assists consumers to assess retail value for themselves.

According to Nina Spannari, General Manager – Marketing and Customer Experience, Canon Australia, Hatch’s innovative retail solution not only enables Canon Australia to drive competition in the market, but creates a mutually beneficial outcome for customers and retailers alike.

“Canon Australia is committed to working with local retailers to bring Australian consumers the best value product offers, promotions, services and experiences possible,” says Ms Spannari. “In one month, Hatch helped us double our retail referral traffic from our brand site to retail partner sites, revealing that consumers and retailers are benefiting from our strengthened arrangement.”

According to a recent CBRE report, online sales in Australia are expected to be worth $43.1 billion by 2022. In physical stores, 34% of customers are making purchasing decisions influenced by online research, demonstrating the growing market for omnichannel retail solutions. Despite this, just 19% of the top 250 retailers in Australia are successfully harnessing omnichannel demand. Additionally, GlobalData research outlines that e-commerce in Australia is set to grow by 10% (Compound Annual Growth Rate) annually between 2020 and 2023, with online sales eventually expected to reach $77.1 billion by 2024. This growth highlights how crucial it is for brands to adapt to the ever-evolving retail landscape by developing effective omnichannel strategies.

Commenting on the new partnership between Hatch and Canon Australia, Joris Kroese, Founder and CEO of Hatch, said: “This latest partnership is expected to help accelerate sales for local retailers who stock Canon products. ‘Where-to-Buy’ enables consumers to check retailers’ online store stock availability and local store proximity through an innovative widget. We enable an enhanced customer experience by strengthening brand-retailer relationships.”
