  • Is user registration required to use image.canon?

    Image.canon is a service offered to the owners of select Canon digital cameras and SELPHY compact photo printers.


    You must register a Canon ID in order to use image.canon.

  • I used CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Online Photo Album in the past. Is a new user registration required?

    If you used CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Online Photo Album, then a new user registration is not required. Please use the same email address and password as before.


    Your CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Online Photo Album images and albums will migrate to image.canon.


    However, image titles and comments that you edited in Online Photo Album, as well as tag information, will not migrate.

  • Is image.canon free to use?

    Yes, it is a free service for users of Canon camera's equipped with web service image upload.

  • How can I check if my camera is supported to use image.canon?

    Cameras equipped with web service image upload function is connectible to image.canon.


    All Canon cameras released before the EOS R5 will, at minimum, support manual file transfer.


    Automatic file transferring, available for cameras equipped with the automatic file transfer function, beginning with the currently-in-development EOS R5 (announced on 13 February 2020), requires users to connect the camera to a Wi-Fi access point that has been registered in advance.

  • I have multiple Canon cameras. Can I connect all of them?

    There is no restriction on the number of compatible cameras you can connect to image.canon.

* Not all Canon cameras support automatic background transfer. Other compatible Wi-Fi enabled Canon cameras offer easy manual transfer direct to image.canon. For a full list of compatible cameras, please visit http://image.canon. Compatible cameras must be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi.

** After 30 days original images are deleted unless they have been moved into long term storage.
