The file size, possible shots, and maximum burst during continuous shooting are based on Canon's testing standards (3:2 aspect ratio, ISO 100 and Standard Picture Style) using an 8 GB card. These figures will vary depending on the subject, card brand, aspect ratio, ISO speed, Picture Style, Custom Functions, and other settings.

The maximum burst applies to ⋖⋗ high-speed continuous shooting. Figures in parentheses apply to an UHS-I class 16 GB card based on Canon's testing standards.

If you select both RAW and JPEG, the same image will be recorded simultaneously to the card in both RAW and JPEG at the image-recording qualities that were set. The two images will be recorded with the same file numbers (file extension: .JPG for JPEG and .CR2 for RAW).

- In MOV Format

[ ] ALL-I (For editing/I-only): Compresses one frame at a time for recording. Although the file size is larger than with IPB (Standard) an IPB (Light), the movie is better suited for editing.

- In MP4 Format

[ ] IPB (Standard): Compresses multiple frames at a time efficiently for recording.

[ ] IPB (Light): Records a movie at a bit rate lower than with IPB (Standard), resulting in a smaller file size and compatibility with a larger range of playback systems.

Caution

Even if you shoot a movie exceeding 4 GB, you can keep shooting without interruption.

During movie shooting, if the file exceeds 4 GB, a new movie file will be created automatically. When you play back the movie, you will have to play each movie file individually. Movie files cannot be played back automatically in consecutive order. After the movie playback ends, select the next movie to be played back.

The maximum recording time of one movie clip is 29 min. 59 sec. If the movie shooting time reaches 29 min. 59 sec., the movie shooting will stop automatically. You can start shooting a movie again by pressing the ⋖⋗ button. (The movie will be recorded as a new movie file.)
