How to set Continuous Shooting (PowerShot SX270 HS / PowerShot SX280 HS)

Solution

You can hold the shutter button all the way down to shoot continuously.

For details on the shooting modes in which the [Continuous] () settings cannot be made, please see the table at the end of this section.

Caution

Setting continuous shooting may not be possible in some Shooting Modes.
The following explanations are provided based on the assumption that the [Shooting Mode] is set to [Program AE] ().
Cannot be used with the self-timer or [Blink Detection].
Shooting may stop momentarily or continuous shooting may slow down depending on shooting conditions, camera settings, and the zoom position.
As more shots are taken, shooting may slow down.
Shooting may slow down if the flash fires.

1. Press the power button to turn the camera on.


2. Press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


3. The following screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons or turn the ⋖Control dial⋗ to choose [Drive Mode] (), and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


4. The following screen appears.

Press the ⋖⋗⋖⋗ buttons or turn the ⋖Control dial⋗ to choose [Continuous] (), and then press the ⋖FUNC./SET⋗ () button.


5. The following screen appears.

If the [Continuous] () icon is displayed on the screen, the setting is completed.

Hold the shutter button all the way down to shoot continuously.

Drive ModeDescription
ContinuousContinuous shooting, with the focus and exposure determined when you press the shutter button halfway.
Continuous Shooting AFContinuous shooting and focusing.
[AF Frame] is set to [Center] and cannot be changed.
Continuous Shooting LV*Continuous shooting, with the focus fixed at the position determined in manual focusing.
In [Fireworks] () mode, focus is determined by the first shot.
* In [Fireworks] () mode, AF lock, or manual focus mode, [Continuous Shooting AF] () is changed to [Continuous Shooting LV] ().


Caution

If you use Face ID, the name recorded in the image will be fixed to the location where it is displayed in the first shot. Even if the subject moves, the name will stay fixed in the same position for any subsequent shots.

Caution

The following three drive modes are available. Please select them according to the scene being shot.
