Content Id: 8202610300

If RAW images captured with the camera cannot be opened on a computer, please refer to the information in the applicable section(s) below.

Installing software that supports images captured with the camera

To view and edit RAW images captured with the camera on a computer, please download [ Digital Camera Software ] from the Canon homepage and use it to install [ Digital Photo Professional ] on the computer.

With a computer connected to the Internet, access the Canon website and download the software.
To use the software, make sure you download the files ([Digital Camera Software] or [Digital Photo Professional]) for your device model.

- You can convert images from RAW to JPEG or TIFF and save them to a computer. You can also perform various image adjustments.

Confirming the software version

If Digital Photo Professional is already installed on the computer, please confirm the software version.

To confirm the software version, click [Help] on the toolbar, and then click [About].

As some camera models are not supported by Digital Photo Professional Ver.3.x, captured images may be displayed as shown below. In this case, viewing and editing may not be possible.

Installing Digital Photo Professional Ver.4 may resolve this issue.

RAW image format

RAW images are "raw" (unprocessed) data captured by the camera's image sensor, and recorded with essentially no loss of image quality from the camera’s internal image processing.

Each camera manufacturer has a different type of RAW format. Therefore, some applications do not support RAW images that have been captured by the camera.
