Changes in firmware:
Firmware Version incorporates the following fixes.
• Corrects the phenomenon in which the remaining battery level gradually decreases even though the battery charge is complete and the camera remains connected to a computer.
(This phenomenon does not occur when charging using the CB-2LH battery charger or the CA-DC30 compact power adapter).

Preparations for the firmware update:
After the downloaded zipped file (dmg file) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
*To extract the downloaded file: The downloaded folder is automatically created, and a firmware folder is created. If the downloaded folder cannot be automatically extracted, double-click the folder.

The new folder created will include the firmware (File name: PS_G7XMK2_1010.FI2; File size: 13,473,936 bytes), and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).
Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to carefully confirm your understanding of these instructions.

The following items are required to perform this firmware update:
1. A PowerShot G7X Mark II digital camera
2. A computer (OS: Mac OS X)
OS requirements: Mac OS X (10.9-10.11)
3. A 32 MB or higher-capacity SD Memory Card, an SDHC Memory Card, or an SDXC Memory Card (all commercially available)
4. A memory card reader /writer (commercially available) or an SD card slot on the computer.
5. A fully-charged, dedicated battery pack or a dedicated AC adapter and Interface Cable
6. The firmware (the file downloaded from the Web site)
