Have a great idea for a video podcast? Canon wants to help you bring it to life - with gear, guidance and studio support to get you started. Whether your idea is funny, powerful, thought-provoking or totally out there, this is your chance to pitch it and win a full launch package powered by Canon.
We’re looking for great ideas and genuine passion, not perfection. Your podcast should showcase what you believe in and how you’ll bring it to life, especially on video.
We want to see a clear concept or format for your video podcast. Tell us what makes you excited to share your voice. You don’t need a studio, just a plan, even if it’s as simple as you and a mic
From identity and culture to comedy or current issues – whatever you focus, we want to hear how you’ll use video podcasting to connect with others in a meaningful way
This should include a short video pitch (45 seconds to 2 minutes) and visual presentation (maximum of 5 slides).
Ensure your submission meets the criteria. Read the Terms & Conditions here.

The competition is open to Australian residents aged 18 and over. You can enter as an individual or as part of a team (up to 5 people total). All entrants must be the original creators of the podcast idea submitted.
We’re looking for ideas that are clear, original, and have visual storytelling potential. Your podcast can be about anything, from comedy and storytelling to identity, culture, or current issues. What matters most is your passion, your point of view, and how you plan to bring it to life using video.
Not at all. Your pitch can be recorded using a phone, webcam, or any basic recording setup. We’re not judging on polish. We’re judging on clarity, concept, and creator passion.
Your entry must include two things:
• A video pitch (45 seconds to 2 minutes, MP4 or private YouTube/Vimeo link)
• A visual presentation (max 5 slides, PDF or PowerPoint)
• Make sure to include your name, podcast name, and contact details in the presentation.
We recommend answering the following in your pitch:
• What’s the idea?
• Why are you making it?
• Why does it matter — to you or to others?
• How will you use video to bring it to life?
• How will you launch and grow it?
Entries open July 16, 2025 and close August 25, 2025 at 11:59 PM AEST.
The studio hire is in Sydney and Melbourne. Studio access is part of the prize, but travel and accommodation are not included.
