This fix addresses a problem that, in rare cases, causes faxes received from certain devices made by other manufacturers to be printed incorrectly. You will be asked to enter the serial number of the product in order to download the firmware. The serial number is usually located on the rear side of the printer.

(2) A problem that causes sequential broadcast to end after sending approximately 20 items when the user attempts to send 50 or more items using sequential broadcast from PC fax. (3)A problem that causes the device to remain unconnected when using a wireless LAN connection The following improvements have been made: (1) The number of jobs that can be received using the fax memory RX function has been changed (increased from 10 items to 30 items)
Ver02.03 The following problems have been resolved: (1) Spelling mistakes in some messages that are displayed on the control panel "System Settings" > Incorrect) "Store/Print when Fowarding" Correct) "Store/Print when Forwarding" (2) A problem that, in rare cases, causes blank sheets to be output when printing a received fax (MF8080Cw only) or when printing from a PC.
Setup Instructions
The firmware and instruction files have been compressed. The following instructions show you how to download the compressed files and decompress them.
1. To download files, click the file link, enter the printer serial number, then select [Save] and specify the directory where you want to save the file. Click [Save] to start the file download. 2. Downloaded files are saved in the specified folder in a self-extracting format (.exe format). 3. Double-click the files to decompress them. A new folder will be created in the same folder. 4. Open the decompressed PDF file. Follow the instructions in the PDF to start the firmware update.
Caution
**Caution** A critical error may occur if another computer or application communicates with the printer (for example, by printing) while the firmware is being updated. Do not turn OFF the printer or disconnect the USB cable or LAN cable while the firmware is being updated.
* In order to prevent errors: Connect the printer using either a USB cable or a LAN cable only (do not connect both cables). (A USB cable is recommended as it is not affected by other computers.) Disconnect the telephone cable from the printer to prevent faxes from interrupting the firmware update. When connecting the printer with a USB cable, do not connect the cable via a USB hub as this may cause a connection error. When the printer is connected with a LAN cable, do not perform printing, etc. while the firmware is being updated. The printer will need service if a critical error, such as the printer not starting up after the main power has been turned ON, occurs.
