Capturing important moments with the <PRE-REC> function

Solution

When using the ⋖PRE-REC⋗ (pre-recording) function, the camcorder will start recording 3 seconds before you press ⋖START/STOP⋗, ensuring you do not miss important shooting opportunities. This is especially useful when it is difficult to predict when to start recording.

Caution

Pre-recording is always activated in mode.

The procedure for setting the ⋖PRE-REC⋗ function is explained below.

1. Turn on the camcorder.

2. Touch [ ].

3. Drag your finger left/right to bring the [Main Functions] menu to the center, and then touch the icon to open it.

4. Drag your finger up/down, and then touch [PRE-REC].

5. Touch [ON].

Caution

Repeat, selecting [OFF], to turn off pre-recording.

6. Touch .

7. Press the ⋖START/STOP⋗ button.

The scene recorded in the memory will start 3 seconds before ⋖START/STOP⋗ was pressed.

Caution

The camcorder will not record the full 3 seconds prior to pressing ⋖START/STOP⋗ if the button was pressed within 3 seconds of having turned on pre-recording or having finished the previous recording.

Caution

Any of the following actions will deactivate the pre-recording function.

Leaving the camcorder without any operation for 5 minutes.
Changing the operating mode.
Activating video snapshot.
Touching any of the following control buttons in the [Main Functions] panel:

[White Balance], [Faders] or [Decoration].

Opening the [Other Settings] menus.
Changing the shooting mode.
